Dental Fillings

In the past, dental fillings were typically made out of a silver metal-amalgam material. With the rise of modern dentistry, new composite (tooth coloured) filling materials are now readily used.

By removing the damaged enamel and dentin and restoring the shape of your tooth, the decay no longer progresses, preserving your tooth and your smile. Composite fillings can also be used to restore chipped teeth, worn teeth or to close space between teeth.

If you believe that you do have a cavity, it’s important to get treatment right away. Fillings are affordable, but if you let your cavity progress, you may need a treatment such as a root canal and a dental crown, or your tooth may even require extraction.
